ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Chiropractic care is safe, effective and surprisingly comfortable for most treatments.

Dr. Kestner uses chiropractic methods that have been tested and proven to be safe, beneficial and appropriate for your condition.

Spinal Manipulation

Chiropractic care often involves joint manipulation.  This can be accomplished in a number of ways to suit your unique condition.

What techniques does Dr. Kestner use?

Dr. Kestner has been trained in a very wide range of chiropractic techniques.

Dr. Kestner uses the flexion-distraction system to successfully treat lumbar spinal disc herniation, protrusion or other disc conditions.   In addition, he uses Diversified technique as well as several soft tissue techniques.  Trigger point treatment is frequently helpful for patients.  Many patients benefit from his experience in treating athletic injuries with manual methods.

He also uses other techniques that will bring about the best results.  Dr. Kestner has been trained in most major chiropractic techniques.

In addition we have the most advanced technology available for spinal decompression, and other modalities.

Is "joint popping" always necessary?

As an option for patients that prefer a gentle approach, Dr. Kestner also offers care that does not require the traditional popping sound that many people associate with manipulation.

Chiropractic care has been successful in helping millions of patients avoid costly and invasive spinal surgery.  Even most spinal disc cases respond very well.

How can I learn whether this care is right for me?

Before beginning any chiropractic treatment, a new patient will sit with Dr. Kestner to determine if the treatment is a good option.  If Dr. Kestner feels that you will likely benefit from chiropractic care or acupuncture techniques, he will make appropriate recomendations.

What tests or exams are performed?

A physical examination will be done to determine the best method of care.  If you have had any previous x-rays, MRI's, CT scans or any other testing performed, please bring those results with you.

How often will I need to come for treatment?

Chiropractic care often requires a series of treatments, similar to physical therapy, orthodontics (dental braces), allergy shots, or many other medical procedures.  Dr. Kestner will recommend a treatment plan intended to be safe and effective.  Many patients have found that they receive great results in a very short time.

Is the care that Dr. Kestner provides like the chiropractic treatment my parents may have had?

Chiropractic care has changed significantly in the past few decades.  Dr. Kestner frequently attends advanced study courses involving new techniques.  Chiropractors are required to attend continuing education classes and Dr. Kestner is a leader in the chiropractic profession in this area.  He has published over two hundred articles in several publications.
