Chiropractic care for kids:

Parents are often surprised to learn that chiropractic care can be very effective for children!

They may be even more surprised to learn that a well-known pediatrician recommends chiropractic care for his patients!  Here is a quote from the website of Dr. William Sears:

web-dr-sears.jpg"Chiropractic care - I firmly believe that chiropractic adjustments... can improve middle ear drainage and decrease ear infections. "
Dr. Bill Sears - Medical Pediatrician

(Dr. William Sears, MD and his wife Martha Sears, RN have decades of pediatric experience and provide an incredibly well designed and informative website for parents.  He is an authoritative speaker and teacher and appears regularly on national television shows.)

There is a reason that Dr. Sears would place this quote on his website... he has learned first-hand how effective gentle chiropractic care can be for infants and toddlers experiencing frequent ear infections.

In our experience, kids with frequent middle ear infections (otitis media) respond favorably within a very short time.  We have even had kids that were scheduled to have tubes surgically placed in the eardrums respond so favorably that they were able to avoid this procedure.

Infants with colic and crying bouts also respond very well to the gentle hands-on treatment of chiropractic care.

So, how do we treat babies and infants?

With a tender touch.

The treatments are very gentle.  Dr. Kestner delicately palpates the child's spine, sacrum and pelvis to locate any minor joint postioning or functional issues.  Then with only slight pressure, he applies a corrective adjustment.

Dr. Kestner has been treating children since 1988.  Some of the children that he saw in the early years have since brought their own children to see him.
